Mondays 4, 11 and 18 October Navigation and charts evening course 6.30pm to 9pm

I will be running some navigation training evenings at the club. This initial set of evenings has priority for people who would like to progress to leading some sea kayak trips for the club, perhaps on estuaries initially. A second course may be run in due course.

This course will be more suitable for people who are already experienced in using OS maps. Week 1 is optional for people with good OS map skills. Please try to attend both 11 and 18 October.

Monday 4 October Refresher on OS maps with grid references, bearings, compass work etc. Club room
Monday 11 October Introduction to charts, tidal diamonds, tidal stream atlases etc Club room
Monday 18 October More practice on using charts, tidal diamonds, tidal stream atlases etc Committee room upstairs

If you own an OS map of Exeter and / or a compass please bring it, plus paper, pencil, eraser.
