Coaches’ And Leaders’ Development Programme
The canoe club is run by its members and all the coaches and leaders are volunteers. We are always looking for new volunteer coaches and leaders so if you would like to become a coach or leader there are a number of different ways to gain training and qualification. Please speak to Will, Jane or Susan.
We have a number of development opportunities for both existing coaches and leaders and prospective coaches and leaders.
One-off-coaching within the club
During the winter there will be coaching sessions on navigation, weather, equipment and leadership skills. Please look for these on the forum.
Formal courses within the club
This includes the foundation safety and rescue course
In addition we will be running a course for prospective coaches and leaders next summer
Formal courses from outside providers
As well as coaching courses such as the paddlesport instructor this also includes courses such as first aid and white water safety and rescue.
