Sea kayak award (3*) group July 2019 transport arrangements

Tuesday 2 July meet 5.30pm at Maclaines for loading boats, or 6.30pm at Exmouth Orcombe Point. If you can offer a lift to others please tell people here.
The location for this group will change each week.
Remember to bring helmets and towlines.

    I am sorry - I can't help with transport on 2 July as I will be in Wiltshire - I will keep my eyes open though and help when I can....

    I have deleted you from this group on Webcollect. The next Explore sea kayaking group (old 2*) starts on 6 August which might be more suitable for you.

    Just taking stock of the transport situation for boats (I'm assuming people is the easy bit). I think we have:

    With transport:
    Owen (no extra boats)
    Adrian (+1 extra boat)
    Tony W (+1 extra boat?)

    Needing transport:
    Joe
    Andy
    Paul
    Kathy? (for other thread)

    So that leaves us one or two spaces short at the moment (I'm afraid I don't have my van with me at the moment, sorry).

    I'm assuming anyone who hasn't posted is ok for transport.

    I am going to be in Wiltshire today, but am hoping to get back to join you in Exmouth by 18.30. However, I will not be able to get into Exeter beforehand. Although not a Club boat, I could put my Scorpio MV on the roof if anyone needs to borrow it. I will not have any spare kit.

    Message to everyone. Now that Richard is joining the group to help there should be enough transport to get boats to Exmouth for everyone. Paul, we will arrange to take a large Scorpio for you.

    Hi Jane - not sure if you were counting me in the boat calculations or not but I now have to work late tonight anyway so won't be able to make it, but boat transport depending I will hopefully see you all next week.

    I am glad that you are not relying on me for a kayak - I have only just got out of my meeting on Salisbury Plain so will not get to Exmouth

    At the moment, I plan to come next week (9 July) and can come to the Club first for 17.30hrs. I will be able to take 2 extra kayaks, people and kit.

    Tuesday 9 July. It is low water in the evening and forecast 3 gusting 4. We will therefore go to Exmouth Orcombe point again. Skills work eg paddling, edging and turning in the wind.
    Meet 5.30pm at the club or 6.15pm at Exmouth. Please bring a towline.

    Joe and Andy: It sounds like there should be plenty of space for people and kit if you meet at the club.

    Kathy: Yep, someone will be able to take a boat. I think three people need a boat lift (Andy, Kathy and Joe), and Nigel, Jane and Adrian will both easily be able to take 2 boats each, probably more if needed, so plenty of space.

    Arrangements for Tuesday 16 Jul are for us to go to Polly Steps at Teignmouth. To get to Polly Steps you go through Teignmouth Docks and out the back where there is a small boatyard and slipway. TQ14 9DG.

    Paul if possible please could you take an extra Scorpio on your car this evening as we will be tight for transport tomorrow.

    Is there any chance someone might be able to transport a boat and paddle for me tomorrow? Unfortunately I can't get back from work to help load it in time - but I'm very happy to pay your parking as an exchange!

    I am afraid I am Salisbury Plain again tomorrow, and will not get out of my meeting until late. I cannot offer lifts this week.

    Hi Richard... I know that it was an orange one last time - I am 5ft 7 ish if that helps. Sorry not be more helpful! I would also need a right handed paddle and tow line if pos (I have the other stuff).

    I will come, tho will struggle to be in time to help transport kayaks from club. I will keep an eye on this thread and if desperately short of transport may be able to escape early. Otherwise see you at Exmouth. Richard.

    Great you can come tomorrow. I don't think you need to come to the club. Adrian T is going to take a scorpio lv for Kathy. With Adrian E and my cars I think we should be ok.
